Denise Gasser

In March, I got to spend some time with incredible artist and beautiful human, Denise Gasser. It was such a light-filled inspiring afternoon in her studio. She was great to let me try out all sorts of things and I learned so much from her. Then my website was having problems and I realized recently that I never blogged these. So here we are. My 5 year old daughter was watching me go through some of the images and said “Is she a teenager or an artist?” I think she was a little shocked when she heard that Denise is a little older than me. I definitely was when I found that out.

One of the things I wanted to focus on was her process for her Botanical Perfume series: paintings she created after being inspired by her kids’ backyard “perfumes” (jars filled with grass, flowers, honey, food-coloring etc.). I made those too as a kid! I love them so much. Thank you again Denise!
