Sometimes I love to play street photographer. These were all shot in Italy.
During the summer I was asked by the nonprofit, Their Story is Our Story: Giving Voice to Refugees to go to Europe with them in October to help photograph refugees. It was an incredible experience to meet the refugees and hear their stories. Definitely heartbreaking, but also inspiring. So many of them have handled the cruelty dealt to them with such grace and humility. I left in awe at the strength of the human spirit, yet I ache for all those going through so much right now throughout the world. Someday I will post some of the refugee portraits and write more about my experience.
During the trip, we didn’t do many tourist activities, other than a quick stroll through Rome. Some of these were taken there and the rest in Naples.
Up next is Breanna Peterson. Her family took a trip to Oregon and as always with Breanna’s images, my eye wants to linger a little longer on each one.
Totally inspiring thing you did there Kristi, I’d love to see some images, I bet they are powerful. You’ve captured Italy perfectly in these photographs.
