Anne Marie Oborn
“Anne Marie Oborn is well known for her Russian Impressionist oil paintings of bravura landscapes, sunlit florals, and vibrant portraits.” First line of her bio on her website here. In the short time that I’ve known Anne Marie, the best way I can think to describe her is that she is all good things wrapped in one person. Kind, great sense of humor, very artistically talented, humble, thoughtful, patient, sweet, to name a few. I got to photograph her in her studio and home among her and her husband’s beautiful artwork. It was very inspiring and just what I needed at that moment.
I don’t think that day that we met a few weeks ago was a coincidence. I was feeling an “artist’s rut” which happens quite often for me, maybe once a month, if not more. I feel bored and uninspired and my creative heart needs a boost. My friend and I were out walking and happened to pass Anne Marie while she was painting a church. We stopped and admired her beautiful talent and she was so kind. I asked if I could photograph her sometime and couldn’t believe how readily she agreed. Her husband is also a very talented painter. You can see more of their art on their website here.
