nate’s 40th birthday party

Magical summer evening. The lovely lady in the striped dress is my friend Amy, who is also a photographer and who you might have already seen elsewhere on my site. I did an at home session of her family last fall and we became instant friends. In fact, we hit it off so well that at a recent play date with our kids, we decided that we’re going to photograph each other’s lives as much as possible. I am thrilled. Documentary photography is my favorite. When Amy invited me over to document her husband’s 40th birthday party, I knew I would enjoy it, but it far exceeded my expectations. There is so much genuine heart in that family. They are such a joy to be around and photograph. xo
